About this cartoon: As a result of human activity, including habitat destruction, use of pesticides, and climate change, the world is facing animal and plant species extinctions on a scale never seen, save perhaps for when the dinosaurs all perished. If enough of the earth's web of life disappears, one of those species could even be humans.
